Tax credit query

Hi

I gave up my job 4 yrs ago to stay at home & look after my 2 small children and tranferred my tax credits to my husband. I'm thinking about returning to work on a part time basis & just wondering what is the best thing to do with the tax credits. Do I take all of mine back or what? Any advice would be great.
