For a single (separated) person with 2 children under 18, what sort (if any) mortgage would they be eligible for ? Currently have mortgage with KBC and have never missed a payment. Hoping to finalize Legal Separation and take over mortgage this year..
Salary: 30k p.a.
other income:
Family Income Supplement - 101 p.w.
child benefit: 210 p.m. (due to overpayment)
no maintenance at present
Mortgage requested: 110K
As a broad stroke - assuming 250 euro per week outgoings
Can someone step through the calculation please? What percentage of net income can be used to pay mortgage.. Are there specific lenders that may take the children into account differently? I may not be eligible for a mortgage on the above, but want to identify the shortfalls i.e. what salary would I need, what outgoings so I can start to position myself.. Has been a very long tough road but determined to get things sorted. Any advice greatly appreciated.
