Incorrect employment details

Hi,

First time posting. I saw from my profile on PAYE online that my employment start date is incorrect. I started working in 2003 and as far as I am aware have always paid tax but my profile says I started working in 2007. I want to notify Revenue of this but am worried I may incur a big tax bill. Any advice appreciated.

Did you receive a P60 every year from 2003? If so you shouldn't have a problem.

Even though your job stayed the same it's possible that your employer changed, say they went from a sole trader to a company, or another company took them over.

Why don't you direct the query to your employer?

You've no worries. This is probably just their system. Wouldn't worry in the slightest, and if anyone from Revenue came knocking (unlikely) easily resolved.

(P35 section in Nenagh) (but I wouldn't go looking to fix a problem that doesn't exist)
