Best time to plant a hedge

Bare rooted plants can be sown from November to March and are generally cheaper than the potted plants which can be planted at any time of the year.
 
As demoivre has pointed out, bare-root plants are significantly cheaper than potted.

In addition, potted plants require a lot of watering in their first season, whereas bare-root require pretty much no additional care after they've been planted.

Bit late in the year to be planting bare rooted plants now.
Check out http://www.futureforests.net/. They deliver by post and are priced very reasonably.

I'm in no rush to plant right now.

Thanks for that link. Seems like there are 5 or 6 different Laurel plants. Any suggestions which I should choose?

I want them to grow up to about 6-8ft high and have them dense enough to form a thick hedge
