Engagement Ring Insurance

Hi Guys
Has any of you had any experence of trying to get engagement ring insured. Most companies will only cover up to a value of 6.5k euro on a house insurance policy.The companies that will insure it for its true value double /treble the price of the policy.Is it possible to get seperate insurance policy for items of jewellery?

Marwal... "double / treble" ... that seems very strange. How much is the ring worth? It must be worth a fortune if this is the case. Have you shopped around?

I added a diamond ring worth about 3k to the house insurance policy. The extra premium was 20-30 euro.

We added rings worth Eur 8k to our policy with Quinn. Cost Eur 80 per yr.

Should only cost you 65 - 100 max. Most insurers charge a rate of about €1 to €1.50 per €100. Simple as.

It's not a lot extra, it just needs to be specified and a valuation cert submitted.
