having a quick trip to Toronto soon - only be there for about 36 hours so whats the recommended tourists things to see in short space of time. will be doing Niiagra Falls separately.

CNN tower is good for an overall view of the city, if you are there overnight, try and see if there is an ice hockey match on, they live and breathe their Maple Leafs over there and it is a great way of seeing a city at play.

To add to Mpsox's suggestion.

Visit Chinatown and take in the excellent Art Gallery of Toronto. Casa Loma is an interesting castle which is worth a visit. And for shopping, try the Eaton Centre.

Hope this helps,

the islands on the lake are also beautiful, you can get a boat trip from the waterfront however this would be subject to weather. We were there september & it was beautiful. Great photos of the skyline from the boat plus its so chilled out on the islands. Enjoy, its a cool city.

Too cold for Centre Island boat trip, at this time of year.
Book in for lunch at top of CN Tower in the 360 revolving restaurant. Price includes entrance fee and you get to visit the class floor also.
Do Maid of the Mist Boat trip below Niagara Falls.

I did dinner there and I have to say the food was really great, as was the service and the view.

If you want to shop then hit the Eaton Centre.
