Hi
Heard something yesterday about Ulster Bank's trackers being written off to RBS so that they can avail of the British version of NAMA. I have an UB tracker. Sorry if this is a stupid question but will this have any affect on the borrower?

There is no impact to those that have an Ulster bank tracker mortgage.

RBS/Ulster are simply moving some loss making tracker mortgages into a separate entity.

ULSTER BANK, the third-largest bank in the Irish market, has placed £6 billion (€7 billion) worth of loss-making Irish tracker mortgages into a new division, and may write them off under the British government’s bad bank scheme.
