Scanning Service for Magazines

I am writing to enquire if any one would know companies who would take magazines and scan them in and supply them back in digitial format.

This service, if it exists, could be is breach of copyright laws.

This is a common enough practice if you are using it for document management (google search for this term will probably point you toward digitisation services)

A lot of publishing companies use scanning to create digital versions of old hardcopy-only material (usually handled by Indian-based companies). A lot of scanning by specialised companies can be very advanced and can give you a searchable PDF file.

We use a media monitoring service which sends through scanned images of relevant newspaper articles every morning, so I guess they should be able to do the same for magazines (at a cost of course).

HP also make document scanners and some have an automatic sheet feed so you can walk away and leave it (I think you can chose the digital format..word, tif or PDF)
