medical for mortgage??

They'll ask you to take out life insurance to cover the mortgage - depending on your answers to the questions when getting a quote for that, the life insurance company may ask for a medical.

The bank don't need to know the results of the medical but the price of your life insurance may increase, or you may be declined altogether, based on the results.

Note that if you are declined mortgage protection, the bank may not give you the mortgage. As far as I know, you need mortgage protection if you are buying a house to live in yourself (i.e. that is not an investment property). If you are declined mortgage protection, it might be possible to get a waiver from the bank. There are a good few previous threads on this site about mortgage protection and waivers. It is worth taking a look at those threads.

Might also be worth having a chat with an Insurance Broker and getting advice if you are concerned about medical issues relating to mortgage protection insurance . Also, the bank where you are getting your mortgage may offer insurance through an insurance company with which they have cover arrangements or deals - you do not have to go with the bank proposed insurer, try a broker for info and best deals he may be able to get for you
