Should I cease my PRSA now that I'm an employee?

I set up a PRSA a few years ago when I was self employed. Now I am employed by the state and contributing to a group pension. I'm sure that the PRSA is no longer suitable but I have received only vague information on this, one source said that it it not even legal to have a PRSA in my new situation.

The provider said that they could not offer me any financial advice and basically that I need go and find out for myself.

My work is only part-time so I would need to continue some sort of personal plan to increase my pension. Is an AVC what I need instead of the PRSA?

Thanks in advance

Stop your PRSA. You cannot contribute to a personal plan and company plan at the same time (unless for different sources of income). If you want to make additional personal contributions yourself, it will be through the AVC plan with your employer scheme or through a PRSA AVC plan that you can set up independently.

It's silly that you can now contribute to a PRSA AVC but not a PRSA, but them the rules.
