If somebody on a permanent full time contract changed work hours to a 4 day week for cost reasons and the salary was reduced accordingly, should a new contract have been signed for the new arrangement? This person now works 4 day weeks (Tues - Fri) every week. Does not get any recognition for Monday Bank Holidays (still works Tues to Fri like a normal week). And also has to be available to answer calls and emails when "not working" on Monday. Also if hours worked over the weekend and Monday were counted, they would equate to a full days work. Therefore, the company is getting 5 days employment for the price of a 4 day a week employee. What rights does this employee have?
