Question about temporarily using personal bank account for a business payment

Hi all

I am in the process of setting up a business bank account.

To complicate matters, the business is not in Ireland, the business bank account is not in Ireland, and I am not resident in Ireland. I am an Irish citizen, however.

The business bank account will probably not be ready by the time I receive my first payment from a customer. Therefore I am considering temporarily using my personal Irish bank account.

Does this open me to some sort of tax liability in Ireland or would revenue understand this is just a temporary thing and should be taxed as normal through my foreign business?

Thanks for your advice.

In what country are you opening your bank account? Why is it taking so long?

I don't really understand the transnational taxation, but my gut feeling would be to keep things as simple as possible. Delay receipt of the payment until you have your new bank account open.

Alternatively, can you get the payment made into someone else's bank account in the country you are operating from?

Brendan
