A neighbour is worried one of her grandchildren is going to lose a finger as the door to her kitchen closes with some force if there is a through draught in the house eg back and front doors open. Is there a solution to this problem which a joiner can sort?? Thanks.

Saw a solution for this problem in the Panelling center some sort of plastic cover.

Best to go there and ask

the plastic cover although it will save a child's finger which of course is paramount,it is a nuisance when you want to close the door. a guy on the late late show the ither night has developed a hinge exactly for this reason dont know if it is on the market yet but if you look up their website there may be some details, saw it working and it does work.

YES you can fit a door closer usually found on fire doors etc to make sure they stay closed, any builders providers or hardware will have them in stock . easy to fit with minimal tools
