hi all;
just moved into new house and the alarm is a scopetronic (homeguard). problem is cant find a manual or any info on altering the code to personlise it from previous occupiers. Any ideas?

Try http://www.tech-man.com/techindex.asp to download user manual (not free - about €8/9 per download from memory)

Last summer, i had problems with my alarm. Downloaded the user manual for it from this site, manual did contain the master reset code, and i got in control again.

The scarry thing is that a thief can turn off the alarm in few sec with this code which is publicly available..

cheers for that. checked out tech man web page , my luck its not listed.
know of any other similiar sites. cant believe its thats easy to get master code for alarms.

Usually though when the alarm is installed by reputable installation companies, they will change the master code & keep a secure record of it. Had to do work on my own in the last few days & the master code had been reset by the installer.

I put in an Aritech for about €300, that's with 6 PIRs and all windows and doors wired up. Drop into any alarms supplier, they'll be able to give you the details on what's available and prices. A few options here:

I'm in the same boat - anyone got a user manual? Even reset instructions would be of great help -thanks in advance!

Are they're any problems with insurance if you install alarms yourself?

thanks

Live in a house with scopetronic homeguard and never had the code, so kept the alarm off. Now it has gone off by itself due to electricity cut. Any way to find the master code or reset the da,n thing. Alternatively, how do I rip it out?
