Hi, I purchased some shares through a company scheme a few years ago. However, I don't have any proof of what I paid for them. When I want to sell the shares and calculate CGT, how do I go about proving what the purchase price was?

Thanks.

You only need proof if Revenue decide to query your CGT return.

Can you get access to your bank account / payroll record from the time? Can your employer not confirm what the price was?

Tax return on any capital gain is self assessment. Unless the Revenue conduct an audit on you , no proof of purchase will be required. Unless the sum of money and gain is significant associated CGT charge is likely to be minimal. Look up Revenue.ie. to assess any chargeable gain!
