Advice needed on entitlement to redundancy because of relocation

I am currently employed and habe been advised that my office is going to be relocating to another premises 60 kilometers away. This would take my daily journey from 22 to 83km each way.

I have been told that they are going to offer us a relocation package but to be honest this would not suit me at all. I would prefer to be made redundant.

Does anyone know if there is a maximum / minimum distance of relocation which would be deemed reasonable?

I don't think an additional 120km a day is reasonable and think this would be grounds for redundancy.

Thanks

Hi Angelinao, I'm in similar position so just interested if you were offered redundancy?

Check your contract of employment, I was in your situation and I was lucky that in my contact there was a clause stating that in case of relocation I was entitled to redundancy. No everyone had this clause and one had to travel a further 50k without any compensation, the company did not offer a relocation package either.
