Structural Surveyor Indemnity Insurance

Hi Folks,
Can someone help explain what indemnity insurance means in the context of a structural surveyor?

Does it mean that if we contract a surveyor to survey a property and he misses a major structural issue, then we can seek compensation from his indemnity insurance (assuming we had proceeded to buy the property)?
