The Labour Party have sensationally pulled out of Government in the ongoing row over Justice Minister Alan Shatter's handling of the Garda tapes controversy.
The Dail was due to debate a no confidence motion in Minister Shatter over the next two days, however this was before the Labour Party's intervention.
Tanaiste Eamonn Gilmore said his Party no longer had any confidence in the Minister, and he called on Taoiseach Enda Kenny to request the President to dissolve the Dail immediately.
A General Election is expected to be held within the next four weeks.
