Moved from another thread on ptsb's need to raise more capital

Should I be concerned about this? As be looking to get my money out of there

I don't think so. This is what I picked up from media coverage today. I have not read the original report yet.

What the ECB has said is

1) ptsb is adequately capitalised for 2014 and 2015.
2) However, it is short around €850m capital if there were to be a massive crash in 2016.
3) This is based on data as at 31 December 2013.
4) Since then ptsb has raised most of this cash
5) It need to raise another €150m before the middle of next year
6) It will get this capital either from the market or from the government.

Agreed. Deposit holder should not be concerned.

The net capital required, by PTSB, is small.

It seems that Davy's and Deutsche Bank will have no issue raising the capital from private investors.

In the unlikely event that DB / Davy's fail to raise the capital, the government will provide the 125 million EUR net capital requirement.

I have quite a large amounting there but substantially under 100k so thats fine then
