My pension plan from my previous employer is being wound up and I am looking for advice on whether I should move my pension funds to the PRB negotiated by the pension administrator or whether I should find an
alternative PRB.
I am not currently employed so I do not have the option to move my pension to a current employer pension plan. I am in my thirties so not close to retirement age.
Here are the details of the PRB offered:
1) Its with Irish Life
2) No monthly contract charges
3) Allocation rate is 103%
4) No bid-offer charge is applied
5) Early Surrender penalty: Year 1 & 2 is 4%, Year 3 is 2%, Year 4 is 1%, Year 5 is 0%
6) Annual management charges
0.65% for Indexed Global Equity fund
0.75% for Global Consensus fund
Is there anything else I should be looking for in relation to charges etc... ?
Would I get a better offer if I shopped around elsewhere ?
Are there any advantages to moving it to a PRSA instead of a PRB ?
Many Thanks, Mac

Yes, you are getting good value. When picking your funds, always know the management charge as that eats into your profits. Try to get as many at the 0.65% level.
