Because of this condition, it is am only possible to get life cover for 15 years but the mortgage provider will not accept the limited cover.
Is there any mortgage provider who is more sympathetic to CF suffers or is it possible to bring a complaint to the ombudsman or equality Tribunial for discrimination on grounds of disability

Any advise great fully received.

You could ask the bank for a wavier if insurance cannot be sourced.

Ask your mortgage provider can you sign a waiver for the life cover based on the fact that you can't get it for the full term. This is not that uncommon as there are lots of reasons people can't get life cover at all or it is too expensive. Bank can set it's own policy on how it deals with customers who cannot get life cover but waivers are possible.

I think that the issue here is that the life company won't issue cover for more than 15 years, so they are estimating a higher mortality risk.

The lender presumably doesn't want to be in a position where they give a mortgage to someone who has a higher risk of dying. If the mortgage holder dies, it will be very difficult and expensive for them to get paid.

Exactly Brendan why would the bank waiver the requirement if 15 years cover were unacceptable ?

The conditions of waivers are that 1. it is not principal private residence, 2. you cannot get life cover at all, 3. you can only get it at increased cost or 4. you are both over 50.

This is not exact wording but close enough, none of these apply to you and banks are so procedure led that maybe they don't consider a waiver will apply in your case. What if you apply for full cover for the full term and then obviously you will get a refusal and then can you slot in No. 2.

This is quite common, lots of illnesses cause these difficulties, even diabetes can cause someone not to be able to get life cover. Banks don't have to accept waivers, each has their own policy on it, check a few until you find one that does. You can then still take out the 15 yr policy to cover yourself but it will just be yours and not assigned to the bank if they have accepted the waiver.

Just an opinion.
