Hi,

I want to start recording some music at home but i don't have much money to spend on equipment. Can anyone suggest a decent digital 4-track or 8-track for under 600 euro?

It'll pretty much just be a few vocal and acoustic guitar tracks, bit of bass. I already have guitar, amp, mic, some effects etc.

I used a Boss BR8 about 9/10 years ago which was good but i don't know if they're a bit dated now.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi

I wouldn't bother with 4/8 tracks etc if I were you - been there.

You are better off with software like Cubase or Cakewalk - steepish learning curve but very versatile. Much better.

Make sure you have a half decent soundcard though. If you are using a Mac (I'm not) you are laughing - Garageband is excellent value and easy to use.

You will need to invest at least a few hundred though.

Plenty of talk about all of this in Boards.

Try a Boss Micro BR, I bought one recentlly and they are good little portastudios for z cheap price - check ebay!
