Is it possible after a divorce to get a court order to stop your ex spouse carrying on using your surname?

In Ireland your legal name is the name that you use. I don't think there are any laws about what name you can or can't use, except for professional titles.

No, so far as I know.

"De minimis non curat lex"

"The Law does not concern itself with trifles".

You're starting to infringe on basic human rights there.

People are legally allowed to change their name by deed poll.

Simple answer - no.
You can call yourself what ever you like as long as there is no intention to defraud.

cannot stop ex-spouse from using former married name. Take it as a compliment.
