Hi
Once a month a friend goes 'on call' 24/7 in their job. They are paid a flat fee for being on call and get paid for when they have to leave their house. Any work that can be done from the house is not paid for.
My question is how many hours can this person work before the whole thing becomes completely illegal. They can literally be kept going all day and night during the week and weekends and sometimes 24 hours without sleep and a proper rest. Having someone else cover them while they take a rest is not always an option so they have no choice but to keep going...
