Banks and Credit Unions

Does anybody know if you can transfer money from a current account to a credit union account or the bank account of the credit union? I want to move some savings to my credit Union. Does anyone know if this is possible? Thanks

Do you mean regular electronic transfers?

My CU (Dundrum) will accept electronic transfers once the reference on the transaction is the CU account number. Note that I don't think they really know that they do this! They have this facility for making standing order payments into your CU account, but trial & error proved that they pick up any such electronic transactions & credit it to my CU account, regardless of frequency.

You can always pay cash or a cheque over the counter at the CU.

Mine allows it albeit thu the BOI account belonging to the CU. You go in and ask them for the details (in the CU) and they'll supply them and ask you to quote your account number.
