Vents and plumbing at neighbour's boundary line?

Hi folks,

I'm fortunate/stupid enough to be considering bidding on a detached house in Dublin. The house is built immediately inside the boundary line with the neighbouring house (which is about 1.5 metres away).

What's putting us off is the air vents and soil stacks along this wall of the house: they're right on the boundary line. The soil stacks in particular exit this wall, and terminate in the ground in the neighbouring property. See the attached photo.

Big problem or is this a regular pattern? I've never seen it before, and would imagine it would create issues over time - how do we service the plumbing/vents, for example?

Thanks

I can't link yet but here's the URL to the photo: boards.ie/vbulletin/attachment.php?attachmentid=322924&d=1411327217

Oh, I can't attach images, sorry. Hopefully the description above is clear above.
