Hi all wondering if anyone can help me. Myself and my wife just applied for a mortgage of 250,000 with aib and ics and were refused on the grounds of having no regular savings. We both are in fulltime employment making 28000 a year each have 75000 invested in a bcm management fund with 20% back next june rest invested for 3 1/2 years ,50000 invested with investec for 1 year will be available next june also, 9,000 invested with irish life property bond not the most secure has lost over 12000 in the last 18months, have a mortgage of 90,000 on current home repayments after trs are 380, paid 138,000 for home was valued at 215,000 2 years ago probably worth around 160,000 today realistically, no other loans no credit card balances pay 50 euro a week each into prsa and 50 into credit union and 10,000 savings in curret account. My question is what do we have to do to get a mortgage i am amazed we have been turned down. Were do we go from here have paid 2,000 deposit on site.Help please.

looks like banks refuse to majority of people at the current climat.
we recently have been turned down by BOI & AIB with regular saving €1300 per month.
both have full time jobs ( 53 000 a year total) , no unpaid credits, 30K savings , applied for mortgage 270K...
we are trying with other banks now.
