Got a text message from Vodafone tonight to say their Vodafone Webmail service will cease on the 18th October 2014. This is going to inconvenience alot of people particular those who have websites and business cards etc linked to theri vodafone email address. Probably a bit of a pain alright but IMO any business that advertises itself using a Vodafone email address is not very professional. This could be a good opportunity to update their system to have a proper domain-based email, such as [email protected].
If they have given out business cards to people over the years, surely if they have gotten any business from said people they should be able to send a
"Hi,
We haven't heard from you in a while. Please find enclosed our new contact details ...."
type email, possibly including some special offers etc. to attempt to re-connect with lost customers. Vodafone email (and IMO Vodafone in general) is rubbish anyway so not a big loss.
