Which is nicer for a 1 night stay, Dungarvan or Waterford City

We're going for a week around Ireland and are wondering which one of the above is nicer area for a 1 night stay?

Avoid both - they really are dumps.

Dungarvan is much smaller so probably less to do. But there are a good selection of restaurants and pubs.

Waterford City

Waterford City - you won't be disappointed

throw caution to wind, impress the other half and yourself, and book into cliff house hotel in ardmore.

Ardmore - there isn't a whole lot to recommend either Dungarvan or Waterford as a stop-over point IMHO.

I agree - Ardmore - lovely area, Dungarvan - you wont impress your other half! Waterford city is nice but pretty typical, imho nothing spectacular, unless you travel beyond the city to Dunmore East or so.

On that note, Ardmore would be my choice too. Hope you enjoy.

depends on the spondulicks .. stay in the gold coast outside dungarvan .. beautiful view across the bay and golf as well and a meal in the tannery that night ...

What sort of things are you into? Pubs, restaurants, scenery etc
