Is it just me - or are the numbers of northern irish people disproportionally generally more successful than people from the south ?
By successful, I mean more in the public eye be it movies, music, sport etc.

It could be a golf thing, McIlroy, McDowell, Clarke. In general though I'm not so sure. What's the ratio, about 3.5M south to 1.5M north?, so are there more than twice the people you're thinking of in the south??, probably tbh. Can't say I've ever found myself envying the north for any reason at all, including disproportionately successful people.

The North have produced some great footballers - Jennings , Best , Danny & Jackie Blanchflower & Peter Doherty .

Down South we have seen both Keanes , Giles , Hurley & Liam Brady but I don't think we have ever seen anyone here as gloriously gifted as Bestie.
