Possibility of single application for top up on family home

Complex case: we need 200k to add to our own funds of 200k for a rebuild of our family home; deeds and current mortgage of 160k in husbands name. Husbands lender (ebs) have insisted joint application made due to it being family home and then refused due to my own heavy borrowings. Does anyone know of any lender that would lend to him full 360k (on basis that he meets all other criteria) on his own - or will a family home always require a joint application regardless that I am not on the deeds?
 
Practically all lenders have a policy of family home mortgage being in joint names regardless of work status etc of partner. Whether or not you are on the deeds doesn't matter, that would more than likely be changed anyway with the drawdown of new mortgage. From a bank's point of view you will be living in house therefore your income and debts are very relevant to the new mortgage application.
