Guys i had an accident a while ago and put it in the hands of PIAB through a solicitor. Got a letter from PIAB today to say the place at fault for my accident has refused for them to asses the accident. My solicitor is on holidays till next week.

Basically i'm just wondering why would the party involved refuse the assesment, they were 100% in the wrong and have admitted that and they are also a very large corporation? Just a little worried thats all guys.

Thanks in advance

The Defendant can refuse to have a matter assessed for any number of reasons, such as the injuries board not taking contributory negligence into account, the respondent may not wish to pay the injuries boards fees or they may have an anti-injuries board policy.

If you have a strong case i'm sure your solicitor will arrange to issue and serve court proceedings on the defendant in the very near future. You should have nothing to worry about as long as the respondent has deep pockets or is insured.
