Hi,

Heading to Boston this weekend - any recommendations for decent restaurants in the city centre. Somewhere with a good atmoshphere.

Was in Boston recently for long weekend. If you are staying in the city centre, would recommend Joe's American Bar & Grill - nice meal, kind of casual place; it was a little quiet but we were there midweek & lateish in the evening.
Went to a bar, Jacob Wirth's (Stuart St) on Friday night, they have a piano-player with songbooks on all the tables, so was good for a laugh. Not sure about food as only sampled the beverages while there!

Grill 23 & Bar - wouldn't recommend this place as service was not good & food was only 'ok'.

Didn't get to try the following but they were recommened by some of the locals:
- Legal Seafoods got recommended lots. They are a chain of seafood resturants & apparently do a good 'lobster roll' & chowder.
- South Street Diner

Its really cold there so bring your scarf & woolly hat, you'll need them!! :)

Thanks for that - was hoping to bring an empty suitcase for shopping but it looks really cold at the mo! Will report back...

My other half is in Boston at the moment, be sure to bring warm clothes - its freezing!

Try Stephanie's on Newbury St. a bit expensive but well worth it, we went there on a Monday night 2 weeks ago and it was really busy so you might need to book, lovely food.

Firefly, if you're back from the shops, head to Wrentham Premium outlets (we got a coach from the hotel for about $38 each) - well worth the trip! You'll fill that suitcase up no problem!! :D
