Hi,
It's my first post here so first of all, just a friendly hello to everyone.
I want/need to open a citigold account with Citibank in the UK. The catch is that I live, and have always lived in Ireland.
I have successfully opened a bank account o with Bank of Scotland in the UK, despite the fact that I bank with BOI in Ireland. My question is, can I simply open an account with Citi in the same fashion, i.e.
Make an appointment, visit their branch in London, show my Irish Passport and an Irish bank statement, and they will do the rest, or will they simply say no?
I can have one of my BOI statements sent to a family member in the UK, if that would make things easier.
Just a side note as well, I wont be keeping the 75,000 GBP balance so I will be paying the 25GBP + per month, if that makes any difference.
