return from career break

i am currently on a career break until 2011. If i want to return now, can the health service refuse to take me back until i'm finished my career break???

I certainly would have thought so. Have you any documentation re this ?

there's nothing in documentation to say that i can't go back? have heard of people being refused though as embargo on jobs etc.

AFAIK:

1. No they don't have to take you back until your career break is over, however talk to your HR person and ask to see the career break details.

2. When you finish your career break in 2011, they don't have to take you back until a suitable position becomes available, so you may not get back to work straight away, again your best bet is to talk to your HR person.
