Hi
My car is currently sitting in my drive as it is for sale, the tax is out since end of march and I am not taxing it as its not on the road, I hope to sell it soon, I know that the new car tax laws wont allow you to get the form signed in the garda station anymore if the tax is out but I am not sure how it works in my situation, if I sell it does the buyer have to pay the tax since end of march? |

I don't know when the new rules regarding a Garda stamping the form, witnessing that you have stated the car was off the road, comes into effect.
I got one of these forms stamped at the beginning of April and got the car taxed so it must not be in operation yet. I would imagine that the new owner would complete a change of ownership form and would not have to pay arrears. |
