Hey Brendan,

I assume it is too late for me to make a submission, given the closing date of Jan 10th ? Are there other ways of making submissions?

Hi Ciaran

Not at all. They extended the closing date to the end of the month which is Monday 31st.

Even then, I imagine that they will take on board any good suggestions.

I got this email just now

Good afternoon,
Thank you for your comments to Consultation Paper 47 Review of the Consumer Protection Code.
Following detailed analysis and consideration of submissions received, I wish to inform you that the Central Bank of Ireland has decided to undertake a second short consultation in relation to our Review of the Consumer Protection Code.
We expect to publish the second consultation paper at the end of June and to allow a four-week consultation period.

Yours sincerely

Patricia Fitzgerald

Hi Brendan,

I have not had a chance to make a submission yet but I would still very much like to make a submission.

I guess this means that further submissions should be made at the start of June?

Not sure.

I suspect that what has happpened is that they have got some interesting new suggestions which they intend to implement, but want to consult on them as they are new. I don't think that they will be reopening old issues. But I don't know.

If you wish to make a submission, you should do so now. If they like the idea, they might include it in the new consultation.

Brendan

Many thanks for your direction on this earlier this year Brendan. I made three submissions and all were taken up.
