There are some affordable apartments on Dun Laoghaire County Council website?

Has any one recently viewed any or booked?

Is it a good time to buy affordable house now?

Some councils at the moment have no Clawback, nice if you decide to sell in a few years time.
Another benefit of going through AH is not having to cough up an 8-10% deposit if you dont have it, as the banks give 100% mortgages for AH .

Just do some research that the price the CC are asking for the apartments is significantly cheaper than buying on the open market, some councils have not lowered the prices from celtic tigers times, no point going through AH for only a small discount .

Personally I think the scheme is great , im currently buying a house in fingal , i'm a low earner , and didnt have 20k savings to buy privately, and i cant expect to live at home forever while i save. Im lucky that i found homes on the list that a liked in an area i liked. So thanks to the scheme im about to become a home owner, something it would of taken me years to do otherwise . Good luck.
