The gym I am a member at is due to close in two weeks time. I don't know yet if its going into receivership or what but I still have 6 months left on my membership.

I paid the full years membership upfront in January. Do you think I can get money refunded to me via a credit card chargeback?

I am assuming the GYM are not going to be refunding members.

Yes, you should definitely be able to. Check the terms and conditions of your credit card provider. If the club goes under the liquidator will contact you in writing to tell you exactly how much of your membership fees are owing. Once they do that your credit card company should be able to send out forms for you to fill in and send back to them with a copy of the letter from the liquidator.

I got all of the membership fees that were owed to me back from Visa when Total Fitness closed this year.
