    AVC on Form 11

In case you haven't got an answer to this yet, I would suggest entering the pension contribution paid under the heading "Charges & Deductions" rather than PAYE/BIK/Pensions(2). On the Charges and Deductions page, scroll to the sub-heading Pension Contributions. The amount of contribution paid...

    Moved House

The filing of the Stamp Duty form should automatically update the ownership of the property for Revenue's LPT records. Perhaps check with your solicitor to see if the purchaser has filed & paid the Stamp Duty. I also recently moved house (Aug), and recently received my first LPT letter for my...

    Property Access Number

The Property Access number is nothing to worry about. As you say, it is a number for solicitors to use. If you are selling your house you can give your solicitor the PAN, Property ID and your PPSN - they can then use this to view the LPT record online for that particular property.

EBS customers - you are not getting the 0.25% rate cut announced by AIB today

I switched from EBS to AIB recently - well, i sold my home that had an EBS mortgage and got a new mortgage with AIB (now 2.95% on a 70% LTV). I didn't even look for a mortgage from EBS as they overcharged for years and I don't trust them at this point. The 'best' that EBS could offer in my...

    Proceeds from Sale of House

We've recently sold our home and our solicitor has received the proceeds (after the mortgage has been paid). Can anyone advise what typically happens to this money now? We are Sale Agreed to buy another house, and are waiting on the seller to sign his part of the contract. The purchase will...

Testing the image function - mortgages forum

A large picture of some fresh doughnuts when i'm logged in. When I log out I only see a thumbnail of the pic - however when I click on the thumbnail it expands to a full size picture (no log-in requested).

Revenue audit - publication list of defaulters

I didn't intend for it to come across as wishful thinking. In referring to a qualifying disclosure I was replying to the original posters question of "Is there any circumstance that revenue consider to not publish name on defaulter list ?" By being published the individual being audited has...

Revenue audit - publication list of defaulters

If you make a Qualifying Disclosure you will not be published: http://www.revenue.ie/en/self-assessment-and-self-employment/making-a-disclosure/index.aspx The Code of Practice for Revenue Audit on their website lists the following reasons for not getting published on the defaulters list...

    Can LPT be revised down?

The option is there to revise the liability, either upwards or downwards. This applies where there was an error in the original valuation you submitted, and doesn't apply where the property prices in the area have risen/fallen. The valuation date for LPT is still 1st May 2013. This link...

    surveyor required for north dublin

The surveyor from Property Health Check is meant to ring you after he carries out the survey to give you a brief summary. They then send the full report to you by email a few days later. We used them recently for a 2-bed in North Dublin. The surveyor rang us after he carried out the survey to...

    Planning permission, driveway and "dishing"

We are currently looking at houses and would prefer one with a driveway at the front. One house I have seen looks like it might be promising, however one thing is niggling at me. The front wall has been knocked to create a driveway but the kerb in front has not been dished. Neighbouring houses...

Concerns that a vendor may not be genuinely looking to sell

Purchaser is a cash buyer - proof of funds have been seen. As you say, this is not the same as seeing it sitting in my own account. Renting for a few months with pets and kids is something we have considered. However finding a rental like that is not easy from what I hear. I can of course...

Concerns that a vendor may not be genuinely looking to sell

Bronte, I'm not sure I understand your last post. Apologies I should have said 'gone sale agreed' instead of 'sold'. I bought where i live 12 years ago. I have not bought anything since. Over the last 6 months we have seen 3 possible suitable places to bid on, but our bids would not be taken...

Concerns that a vendor may not be genuinely looking to sell

Thanks Bronte, and Elcato too. I guess I'm a little frustrated as we have just sold our current home and are now keen to find a new place quickly. I'll try better to detach emotion from the whole process.

Concerns that a vendor may not be genuinely looking to sell

Hi Elcato, as the house is no longer advertised there is no longer a viewing time listed. I do know what time it was advertised for of course and intend to go over there, unless the agent contacts me to say otherwise. From the outside I fear they are maybe reluctantly playing along a bank or...

Concerns that a vendor may not be genuinely looking to sell

I'm looking for opinions on whether or not I am being overly suspicious of the vendor in a house that is (was?) advertised for sale. The history is: - The house originally was advertised for sale 12 months ago, at a price that was about €80,000 more than any of the neighbouring two or three bed...

75% of BoI customers buy mortgage protection from Bank of Ireland

Previously I just took the life assurance that was offered by the bank, I'd say it was laziness on my part as I didn't have to shop around and compare. Recently I took out a life assurance policy through a broker. I wanted to have it in place ahead of bidding on houses - I had concerns I...

    Sale price exceeds LPT valuation

Blackrock1, Have a look at the document you linked to above "guidelines-sale-transfer.pdf" You are quoting from part 4.2.2 which relates to a request for General Clearance. The scenario you describe doesn't appear to fit in with General Clearance. However, if you read on further in that...

Buying a house with no driveway

Thanks, I guess it'll be a judgement call in the end. Sadly semi-d's that have this done are out of our budget so far, as once they've done this they have also had other works done which raises the price. Two or more cars would be much more than we need(!). Trying to get a vendor who wants to...

Buying a house with no driveway

I have been looking to buy a house in Dublin (Cabra/Phibsboro/Santry) over the last few months. One thing I have noticed is some houses have created a driveway by knocking the front garden wall and getting the pavement 'dished' by Dublin City Council. I've read an information leaflet on the...
