    Bathroom extractor fan dilemma

I'm renovating the bathroom in a central (no window) mid-floor apartment with flat-channel ducting and a long duct span (6-7 metres) to the external wall vent. I've removed the original centrifugal fan (c.25 years old) and need to decide on a replacement. (The 1500mm x 700mm shower tray is...

    Peak estate agent arrogance?

After an experience today, I'm wondering apropos this thread title. A local estate agent only occasionally replies to email/Daft/MyHome enquiries about properties they are selling. Upon meeting the agent today, I mentioned this and their reply was "you do send a lot of emails", made no...

Strange thing happening to text messages

I don't know what your point is. Of course there isn't-it's an embedded app on Apple devices. Those messages are iMessages unless sent between an Apple device and a non-Apple device then they're SMS.

    Favourite TV series

If it hasn't already been mentioned here, a dramatisation of the opioid epidemic Dopesick on Disney plus makes for compulsive viewing. The Crime of the Century was a documentary on the opioid epidemic and it would be better to watch first. There are many parallels with the health debacle over...

Strange thing happening to text messages

iMessage is the standard iOS internet messaging service which on other types of phones is SMS. Edit: It only works between Apple OS devices though and is symbolised by a blue coloured message bubble in the message stream.

Have you read the comments sections on social media posts about this? Ireland a state of neutrality..now that's funny. Lollipop men/women being reassigned as traffic wardens is perfectly acceptable only for the union, of course. Dealing with pandemics is an inherent part of being a healthcare...

    €1000 tax-free pandemic bonus

The reason they've been outsourced to private contractors is unsustainable pay rates, staff inflexibility, superannuation burden et al. In short, due to union intransigence

Income protection / state illness benefit

I didn't say it did-I was commenting on an example not making one. In summary, maximum income protection benefits from all sources can not exceed 75% of salary

Income protection / state illness benefit

The amount received in the example provided is made up of three component parts totalling 75%, which is the maximum amount allowable to be paid out from all sources including any state benefits. Therefore, in this case a total of €75k would be within the rules
