    It depends.... on the insurer, how long the vehicle has had no NCT, the type of accident etc (sorry to be so vague) An insurer could argue that without a current NCT then your vehicle isn't roadworthy and if it isn't roadworthy then shouldn't have been on the road to be involved in an accident...
