    I have heard of the birds picking at the window seals before, not sure of the manufacturer of the windows but I was told that it was something to do with the oil used in the manufacture of the seal. It's a few years now since I heard of it.

    It sounds as if it is a hardwood door & if so it needs to be aluminium wood primed before undercoat & topcoat. As hardwood is an oily timber, the aluminium wood primer locks the oil into the wood (where it should be) & allows the paint to stick properly

    Ask for the uValue of both the double and the triple, it will probably be very similar but a big difference in cost, triple glazing is for very large glazed areas and noise.
