Anyone imported a car from NI this year?

Nothing deliberate and pointless you getting on the high horse about it. I know already that if it's imported correctly into NI from GB that no duties are expected when registered in Ireland. My original question was has anyone done that yet.?

I beg to differ. That applies for GB imported items. Not imports from NI.

Anyone imported a car from NI this year?

It's states customs charge 'if applicable'. If it's registered in NI no matter what the date of that is then only vrt and nox should be charged. This was the brexit deal.

Anyone imported a car from NI this year?

Appreciate the reply but I was seeking a clear-cut case that someone had imported in 2021 and their experience. As far as I am aware buying from NI from a dealer for example and it was originally GB, if it was imported into NI correctly then there is regular vrt and nox to just be paid. Im sure...

Are private schools better than public schools?

Discussion gone off track a tad. Agree on people who bought pre 00. But what about people who are buying now who have very little irish inheritance or are from a different country with little savings, What happens to them? They cant afford to buy most likely and even struggle to rent

    Electricity Bills sky high

No expert, but as other posters have said the air to water system is designed for new insulated properties as the heat temp isn't as high. Electricity is expensive to use for heating at the best of times. Try leaving the immersion on or use electric heaters for a week and see the bills soar.

Anyone imported a car from NI this year?

Hi, looking for advice on importing a 2nd hand car from NI. I know that if it was originally a GB car then it has to be registered first in NI if you don't want to be hit with duty charges etc. Has anyone imported recently? thanks

50 income poor asset ok. Expenses Looming

Some of those properties have doubled in value in 7 years. Can't see that happening in the next 7 years. Peaks and troughs, you get lucky or unlucky. If unlucky, can get stuck in that cycle. Almost like a sinewave. This sounds similar to back in celtic tiger times and we all know what...

Is Ireland really the most prosperous country in Europe?

You would never think Ireland is that wealthy when living outside dublin with hardly any services. Do all the usa businesses here distort it a tad?

Brexit rolls on in a City divided by eating habits

A question was raised about this elsewhere and it was why not import the flour from France for instance? Apparently the flour grade there is different and would not work for the bread we are used to.

    RTÉ - TV licence

Similar discussions appear In the UK about the BBC. At the end of the day, if you get rid of the national broadcaster then who will do all the state TV/radio footage. The only competitor is Virgin media and they don't have the infrastructure to compete. Saying that, the RTE app is very bad...

UK Car Imports after 1st January 2021

Hi, I would have thought the vrt price would be from when it was imported back in 2020. What date did you go into the vrt office for car examination? That's how it normally works as I have imported a car in the past and as it was not listed on the vrt site I had to wait 5 days for them to...
