Government approves legislation to provide for temporary stay on tenancy terminations

I could be wrong and the advice to get advice is sound - but you're not issuing a standard "no-fault" eviction, you're evicting because the property is sold/in process of being sold.

    Bike to work scheme

You can't remove VAT from bikes due to EU rules, VAT rate could be reduced though.

The OP seems to be forgetting there's an aunt here as well, it's all uncle this uncle that has the wife no say in anything?

Tracking Down Owner of a property next to mine in the Caribbean

As above but your aim is to have the neighbouring property spruced up isn't it? Do the management company not have any such requirements in their agreement with owners? I'd be surprised if they didn't. So you should be checking that out and pushing the management company to enforce their own...

TSW Commission: Introduce road usage and congestion charges

Some of this was flagged already in the demand management paper for the Department of Transport https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/c6571-five-cities-demand-management-study/#:~:text=The%20Five%20Cities%20Demand%20Management,urban%20centres%E2%80%94Dublin%2C%20Cork%2C

Paid dealer for car - don't want it now.

If the dealer is wise he'll know you're a sincere buyer and looking for a hackney compliant car - would you be happy to allow the cheque to be used essentially as a credit note with the same dealer?

    Considering moving to Westport

One aspect might be kids and expectations of possibly attending college in Dublin - they could stay at home if still living in Dublin but could be a substantial drain on resources if not. Having spent 6 months working from Galway it's definitely a lot wetter on the west coast. Not as familiar...

    Ber cert dishonest

The libraries had a scheme last year where you could get a box that identified where you were losing heat - it was free, might still be running and was helpful to us in identifying where draughts were coming from.

    Local Authority Transfer

It's different in the Civil Service but there are lots of people moving on mobility between Govt Departments at the moment so maybe it has become easier in the Public Sector too, has he applied for any promotions to either Cork City or County Councils? His HR and Union should be able to help.

Should we get rid of free travel of OAPs?

Weekend prices on Ryanair and Ouigo will usually be higher than midweek. Anyway I've pointed out that lower prices are available, I've availed of them myself, but obviously you haven't been able to - that doesn't mean they're not available generally. I'm not really sure what point you're making...

Leaving an apartment empty for two years

There could well be a significant increase in Vacant Property Levies and also a Compulsory Rental/Use Scheme has been spoken about whereby owners could be charged a levy equivalent to the rent foregone. Seems your relative could do with getting better friends.

Should we get rid of free travel of OAPs?

I I would think it's fine for most people, not some. You have a very specific reason for booking last minute. In the grand scheme of things there are an awful lot more tax breaks/social welfare payments worthy of examination than the Free Travel Scheme for OAPs. The cost of means testing with...

Should we get rid of free travel of OAPs?

Just in relation to cost - you can book a return to Cork from Dublin for €43 in a couple of weeks time. People always seem to pick the last minute most expensive ticket option when making arguments about the cost of train travel, doesn't seem to work the same way for flights.

How can I get my Supplementary pension without having to pretend I'm looking for a job

I find it bizarre that the Garda/GRA don't have specific advice for these situations - is there no pre-retirement course for Garda?

Should we get rid of free travel of OAPs?

I was sure that was the case a few years ago, I must have that wrong so. Apologies.
