Looking to clarify a couple of points..... * Is there a possible extension at the end of a PIA, if financial situation changes? * What is the extension term also for Bankruptcy if your financial situation changes? * Is one more stringent then the other, as in how they 'manage' you? * Are there...

Just wondering is this possible? My parents have bought a new home and they have offered to let me live in other place for a while. I do not have savings so we have spoken about me buying it from them and we are thinking of agreeing a 'rent to buy' sort of deal. What would be the...

Legal defense against Animal Welfare Legislation

Hi Gordon, in answer to your question it was an overzealous judgement on the condition of one of the dogs due to a medical condition. The dogs were examined by an independent veterinary surgeon and they were found in good condition. The dogs were well loved and cared for, but that was not my...

Legal defense against Animal Welfare Legislation

Thanks Mathepac for your reply. No they don't, as the ISPCA provide that service in the area. The local SPCA in question does not provide a dog warden service. Thanks anyway and if you have any more suggestions/ advice all welcome.

Legal defense against Animal Welfare Legislation

A friend had her dogs seized by a local SPCA. The claim by them was that she had neglected them, which was untrue. She immediately went to her solicitor and instructed him to seek the return of her dogs. The local SPCA did not answer any of her solicitors letters and subsequently then made a...

    Registered Judgement

Hi, Thanks for the response Time. Yes, I have heard a Judgement lasts 12 years but I also heard something about there is some time frame for a Creditor to Register a Judgement onto your property, and that if it is not done in this time than it is too late. Is that true ?

    Registered Judgement

If one has a Judgement Mortgage but it has not 'yet' been registered on the property, what does that mean? How long do they have to register it? The debt is from 2008/9. Judgement was issued in 2010 but still has not been registered on property. I heard it expires after a time? Is this correct?

Should Solicitor have informed husband about wife's inheritance?

She told him. Then she told him eventually that she had spent it all, when the bank was after her for the 20K, as she did not know what to do.

Should Solicitor have informed husband about wife's inheritance?

Also, yes he is not technically responsible for the debt she rang up, but he is the one unfortunately that has to bear the brunt of it. She simply lives there as a 'lodger' and does nothing. He is the one that looks after and maintains the kids. Seems very unfair. I am sure the law would see it...

Should Solicitor have informed husband about wife's inheritance?

He is on Disability benefit as he has a heart condition. His 'wife' does not have any money of her own bar the money the whole family get for his illness benefit, about €380 I think in total, to support four people. She received about €90K, left to her by an aunt a few years back. It was put...

Should Solicitor have informed husband about wife's inheritance?

Hi Bronte, Thanks for your reply, and of course everything you say is very sensible and what you would advice a normal couple to do. But, yes, I had not given you many of the facts, so you do not know the full story. He cannot have a discussion with his wife unfortunately, as she wont talk. He...

Should Solicitor have informed husband about wife's inheritance?

Thanks for the reply's, much appreciated. Actually, that's why I am asking here, as he cannot afford a solicitor. And yes, he has accumulated all her debts, as they are married still and live together. So he and the kids are unfortunately lumped with her negligence also and suffering because of it.

Should Solicitor have informed husband about wife's inheritance?

I am asking this on behalf of a friend. His wife had a large inheritance left to her and it was placed into her personal account. They were going to a difficult period and she did not offer to use any of the money for the children etc. She spent it all on herself and also accrued an extra 20k in...
