    Climbing Kilimanjaro

I'm hoping to do this in January, using private guides, with a friend. Am planning on doing the longest route as it will allow for acclimitisation to altitude....plus it's the less walked path. If you want to do it for a charity I guess the first port of call would be to contact your chosen...

    Where to buy runners

I also notice a difference when i have new runners. I was wrongly told i over-pronated, was getting bad shin splints, and changed for a neutral gair after a different analysis. Was amazing the difference it made! Need a new pair myself again, the miles have been done on the current pair....

    Broadband Package that supports Skype

No worries. Just remember that the strength and speed of the internet through this is dependent on phone signal, so if you live somewhere with a poor phone signal, or with only GPRS, speeds are likely to be slow. However, it is certainly very handy, and i will often have it activated in my car...

    Broadband Package that supports Skype

I have a Vodafone mobile wi-fi device that allows up to 5 wireless devices to conenct to it. I pay €17 per month for 10Mb speed, and i often use Skype/Viber on that. No issues so far. In the house/home office i use UPC, and no problems with that either.

Getting yelled at for having my dog off the leash...

Thanks ney001....I spoke with the dog warden on the phone this morning and he said the woman could report me all she likes. As long as the dog isn't threatening, being a nuisance etc. they have no issue. It's just upsetting to have somebody who can ruin my day before 9am by commenting on what...

Getting yelled at for having my dog off the leash...

But that's the thing, it appears I am obeying the rules. I totally agree that out of control dogs should be on a leash, but i make the effort to get up early to minimise meeting people, take my dog out to a place he can stretch his legs and have a little freedom - this releases anxiety and...

Getting yelled at for having my dog off the leash...

Point taken, but when you tell him to wait, he stops in his tracks and lets you put the leash on. Like I said, he goes on the leash when unknown dogs are approaching. I have put my dog licence in the car with my insurance certificate just in case the woman gets the dog warden to come down. At...

Getting yelled at for having my dog off the leash...

I have jsut called up the Carlow Kilkenny dog sheltern and warden for advice. I explained the situation, and even though it is effectively a public place, as long as my dog has a collar and tag, I have a dog licence, and i am in effective control of the dog, I was doing no wrong. When i asked if...

Getting yelled at for having my dog off the leash...

The sign is a piece of A4 paper, in a plastic sleeve that has been nailed to a post at one entrance to the trail. There are 2 entrances. I only see it because i walk there every day and it caught my attention when it went up as it looked different.

Getting yelled at for having my dog off the leash...

It's a forest park, as opposed to a forest - if that makes sense? I don't think it's Coillte, perhaps the council. I will check. I was going to call the dog warden and see what they say - if the dog warden says they must be on a leash, then fair enough, i will happily obey that. My dog is a...

Getting yelled at for having my dog off the leash...

Morning all, I would value some opinions here. Every morning, i take the dog for a walk for about an hour around a boardwalk in the forest. I have been doing this for a year at least, down there the minute the gate opens. There are a handful of us dog walkers, and most of us will let the dog...

    Where to buy runners

If you can take a spin down to Kildare Village they have an Asics, North Face, Reebok and Nuike store. I was looking at teh Asics runners the other day - i saw some that i owuld like for €50 (for running) and they can also do gait analysis. The labels on teh shelves are marked up for the...

Exchange Sync Error with Work Emails on Phone

I had my phone sync with Outlook to allow me access to work emails from my HTC Desire. This was working fine until Friday. I now get error messages saying 'Exchange Sync Error - Please Update Your Password'. I have tried changing my password on the settings it takes me to, and tried to put the...

Sushi Making / Good Sushi Restaurant

Hi everyone, In a relatively new relationship and he is back on leave in June. It's his birthday during that time and he enjoys sushi and Thai food. I'm thinking of taking us away for a couple of days (not sure whether to go Dublin / Galway / Cork etc.) and as a birthday present signing us up...

    U.K. Airports that Ryanair use.

Just be careful if you are plannign on doing this. Ryanair will not be held responsible if there is a delay that results in you missing your second flight, i.e. Ryanair do not 'book through'. Best thing would be to go the to Ryanair website and see the list of destinations they fly to, choose...
