    Viewing a will ?

OP, family members ( immediate or otherwise ) don't have any automatic rights to see a Will. As mf1 says, if they are mentioned in it, they are entitled to see the parts of it that relate to them. If they are not named in the will, they are not entitled to see it at all.

FAQ Rights of a beneficiary; Who is entitled to see a will? and related issues

Yes and no. Family members do not have an automatic right to see a deceased persons will, only the named beneficiaries of the will do. However, those beneficiaries are only entitled to see the part of the will that pertains to them, and not the will in its entirety. The executor can choose to...

    Is inheritance factored in?

My parents used to joke that they had every intention of spending every single penny they had before they died. They did a fair amount of traveling before they died, so my siblings and I presumed that was exactly what they were doing, and wished them all the best. We loved seeing them lead such...

Siblings encouraged my mother to change her will

First of all, my sympathies on your situation. It must be a very difficult time for you. Your siblings do not sound like a nice couple at all. A few questions. 1. What is a SC, a solicitor? If you have already consulted a solicitor about this mess, he/she is the one that you should be...

    complicated inheritance case...

OP, who are the parents of this half sibling? I mean their legal parents, not necessarily their biological ones. Was this supposed half sibling ever legally adopted by someone (other than your father) as their own child? If they were, they acquire inheritance rights with those "new" parents and...

How does solicitor know a person is deceased?

The drawing up of a Will, and being the Executor named in it, are often two completely different things/people. If the solicitor drew up the will, but someone else is named in it as its Executor, then the solicitor has nothing more to do with the case. It is then up to the executor to see that...

How does solicitor know a person is deceased?

I imagine that most solicitors would have some sort of system in place whereby they keep in touch with their clients, just so that they will be up to speed if there is a major change in the personal circumstances of the people that they service, such as death. I mean if I am in the business of...

    Money from dad or not

Setting all the emotions & touchy family dymamics aside aside for a sec, isn't the OP legally entitled to 1/3 of his fathers estate? His father died without a will. Intestacy laws therefore apply. Under those laws, the surviving spouse gets 2/3 of the deceased estate, with the remaining 1/3...

Advice needed re. no beneficiaries named in Will.

That is odd. Why would he write a will at all if he didn't want to specify who his property went to when he died? What does the will say if it doesn't say that? If he did have property and its not mentioned in the Will, then intestacy laws apply. They kick in where there is no will at all, and...

Home left to 3 kids - Questions

Who is the Executor of the estate OP? If the deceased person wrote a Will, it is highly likely that they also appointed an executor to handle their financial affairs when they die. That is who will be in charge of what goes on. If it is a solicitor, you are pretty much stuck with him and his...

Wow. Tricky situation OP, I don't envy you. So many things to consider. Parking ticket & summons for parking in a loading bay

Sorry. No sympathy for the OP. I used to work for a company that did off site catering jobs. Our drivers lives were made very hard by inconsiderate drivers who couldn't be bothered finding proper parking. They'd park in our loading bay spots, if they just "popping in" to the offices for a...
