What/What Not to Buy at Lidl/Aldi

Now 2014 and Lidl and Aldi are not now the "gawdawful" places they were made out to be by people who were too snobbish to shop there. Today we have the BMW brigade etc., parked outside. Both Aldi and Lidl have the best fruit and veg on the market. Always fresh due to the high turnover and...

    Painting bought at auction

Thanks all for the replies and advice folks. According to the auctioneer's website it would appear that once the hammer goes down on a successful bid, then the article belongs to the bidder. Here is the relevant line: While the possession in a lot shall not pass to the

Tenant left without settling energy bill - am I liable ?

I have been informed by an employee of esb that once the bill is in the tenants name then the landlord is not liable. The contract is with the tenant that is why energy companies now look for a deposit or else the bill has to be paid using direct debit.

Tax efficient way to gift investment property

    Advice using car auctions

Thanks all for your contribution. Put the car up initially at 5,300 and now at 4,900 which is well below what most 207s sell for. It has very low mileage and in great condition and I believe the price is very good considering what others are advertising -some with much higher mileage and...

stove and fridge Had a problem earlier this year with our fridge freezer that was only two years old but the freeze gave up the ghost. Found that the sun shinning in through the glass (top half) in newly installed back door, directly on to the freezer, was doing the damage. The heat of the...

Calculating Public Sevice pension using modeller

Yes, absolutely certain. Only the investment growth on a AMRF can be drawn down before 75yrs! With the freeze on employment in the public service, the likelihood of increasing hours is slim but I will look into it.

I am trying to calculate the pension I may be entitled to when retiring from the public service using the online Modeller.
