Do I have access to my child's Credit Union savings?

In our credit union the parent cannot make withdrawals on behalf of the child once they pass the age of 12. Then they alone can make withdrawals.

    Accepting Rent Allowance

Tenant selection is most critical. You must get references and you must check references. You are not a charity but you do not want to left out of pocket if the tenant stops paying. Given the associated payment issues surrounding RA tenants you are within your rights to insist on 3 months...

LPT: Landlady seeks to increase rent by €50/mth. Can she do this? Is it excessive?

Property tax kicks in within a few weeks, lease is up in a few weeks, add 1 NPPR to 1 property tax and that probably equates to 50 if not 60 euro per month then on.

Broadsheet.ie: The man who wants us to pay the property tax.

I am not paying the Household Charge because...

Nice that you can afford to suck them up. Most of us cannot, most of us are being sucked up by PTSB and have nothing left to give. I disagree that we are getting services from our local authorities, when I was chairman of our residents association their favorite hobby was not answering phone...

Broadsheet.ie: The man who wants us to pay the property tax.

What about a campaign to encourage people to pay the Household Charge?

Many of us in older residential estates never see council services yet we are expected to pay estate fees for cutting open spaces that this household charge is supposed to look after. When I see the council doing service work in my estate, then I will consider paying it. Also I am...

What is the relevance of this to the household charge? Cannot see Broadsheet.ie at the moment but I hope it is not saying that you advocate this charge?

I am not paying the Household Charge because...

The legislation on the Household charge.ie website lists those estates not eligible to pay the household charge. You could safely take it that if your estate is not listed then it is liable for the charge and most likely taken into charge. You can also find out on the county council website...
